Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience will be considered.
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically within residential or multi-family siding. Experience with James Hardie or LP SmartSide systems is highly preferred.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with industry estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Planswift, or STACK).
Strong ability to interpret construction drawings, elevations, and scopes to produce precise cost estimates.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to internal teams, builders, and clients.
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, scope alignment, and risk mitigation.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and maintain positive relationships with builders and vendors.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
In-depth understanding of siding materials, housewrap systems, installation techniques, and manufacturer standards (James Hardie, LP, Tyvek, etc.).

Responsibilities

Project Estimation: Utilize advanced Excel skills and leading estimating software to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for siding and housewrap projects. Analyze architectural plans, specifications, and elevations to determine material quantities, take-offs, and labor requirements.
Material & Labor Analysis: Conduct detailed take-offs for siding systems (James Hardie, LP SmartSide, vinyl, and fiber cement), trims, soffits, and housewrap materials. Identify labor efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities while ensuring compliance with manufacturer guidelines and building codes.
Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive and competitive bid proposals, aligning with builder and client expectations. Verify accuracy of scope inclusions, exclusions, and pricing structures.
Collaboration: Work closely with Project Managers, Operations, and Sales Teams to review project scope, evaluate risks, and strategize optimal production and installation methods for siding projects.
Continuous Improvement: Stay current on siding product innovations, installation methods, and pricing trends for James Hardie, LP SmartSide, and comparable systems to improve estimating precision and efficiency.
Documentation: Maintain well-organized records of take-offs, estimates, bids, and revisions within company systems, ensuring traceability and alignment with company standards.
