This position will start in Kansas and will require travel and work in the Midwest (e.g. Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska). Primary Function: Implement company quality control plans for the heavy highway industry while maintaining a professional working relationship with the owner’s representatives in order to keep the project on schedule and produce a quality product. The position will report to the Operations Manager. Some products tested by the QC Technician include but are not limited to: concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and soils.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to acquire material testing certifications.
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a “Negative” result.
  • Must be able to complete a post-offer physical with a “Capable” result.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience testing on civil engineering projects or education in the heavy highway industry.
  • Material testing certifications such as ACI or State Highway Department Certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the company contact with the owner’s representative for QC matters.
  • Sample for and conduct quality control tests according to the contract documents and specifications.
  • Completes all quality control documentation such as spreadsheet summaries and transmits the appropriate records daily.
  • Analyze and interpret results of QC testing & activities. Provide recommendations to Operations and QC personnel on appropriate adjustments and/or changes in processes to maintain acceptance and efficiency.
  • Properly maintain the field laboratory and associated test equipment. Including the scheduling of field laboratory equipment calibrations, as needed.
  • Pursue involvement with the company sponsored technical training program and continue your individual educational efforts associated with quality control.
  • Provide support in other assignments as scheduled by company managers.
