About The Position

Manage development, design, and construction projects of all scales of minor projects (under $2M construction cost), and major projects valued under $10M, designed by outside consultants. Develop design programs, cost estimates, and budgets. Carry out feasibility studies for projects. Develop and maintain project files. Coordinate meetings between users and consultants. Provide as-built drawings to consultants. Arrange for site access. Coordinate 50%, 100%, and bid issue review comments. Develop and enforce project schedule. Coordinate and arrange delivery of bid documents, advertisements for bidders, pre-bid meetings, and bid openings. Make recommendations for bid awards. Coordinate and arrange notice-to-proceed meetings. Approve and process pay requests. Approve and process change orders. Attend regularly scheduled construction meetings. Monitor and report progress of all projects weekly. Arrange (through Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and state fire marshal) review of 100% review documents. Arrange state fire marshal 60% and 100% construction completion inspections. Report new construction to insurance coordinator. Prepare architectural and engineering facilities programs for buildings and other physical facilities to achieve maximum usefulness to the design architect or engineer. Collect close-out documents from projects. Perform closeout duties at end of project. Provide other normal project management work (as may be required). Serve as staff project manager (as required) for special assignments, providing technical advice to other staff members. Operate department’s assigned state motor vehicles on- and off- campus to project job sites/meetings

Requirements

  • Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, planning or building construction and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Florida Class E driver license.
  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) credential.

  • Experience with the planning, design, and construction of university facilities.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and BIM (Revit) are desirable.
  • Computer skills in Revit Building Information Modeling (BIM).
