About The Position

This position is expected to be a field assignment near Los Alamos, New Mexico. The location of the assignment can vary depending on the job and/or client. We do offer per-dem for those that qualify. This position will offer you the opportunity for exposure to project engineering and construction management on a variety of projects through coordination with multiple internal and external departments to manage the life cycle of project execution. Responsible for all phases of a project from inception through closeout including aspects of contract administration, planning, and resource management Take ownership for all aspects of project performance including safety, schedule, budget, reporting, and client experience through entire project lifecycle Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with client functional leads and stakeholders Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed safely, satisfactorily, on time, and within budget Facilitate in identifying risks and providing trends; implement risk mitigation when feasible Recognize, identify, track, and control change Communicate, coordinate, and consult with appropriate stakeholders and supervisors Prepare reports that provide information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements Perform design reviews to ensure code compliance Provide problem resolution and prepare appropriate documentation in coordination with EoRs Analyze issues and provide solutions to improve results Perform and apply quality control throughout the project life cycle to ensure adherence with state, federal, and local regulations and standards Perform weekly walkdowns and attend IPT meetings Provide oversight to the project’s overall cost and schedule

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
  • 12+ years of construction industry experience with focus on full construction experience; industrial or government-related construction experience preferred
  • An associate’s degree in a construction related field, or a combination of education and experience demonstrating an understanding of construction practices; high school diploma or GED required
  • Must have active US Government Department of Energy Q Clearance
  • Must be able to travel and is open to various work locations
  • Experience in progressive leadership roles, supervising construction teams, managing clients, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following: Field Engineering, Superintendent, Construction Management, Project Management, Subcontract Technical Representative (STR), Waste Management, Safety, Quality, and/or Procurement
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate intentionally and clearly across multiple stakeholders, vendors, teammates, and business partners.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction planning, processes, and practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building codes, engineering standards, and construction technologies
  • Demonstrated knowledge of startup, commissioning, and equipment and systems operations

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the DOE construction management policies, practices, and procedures
  • Experience in ASME NQA-1 construction practices
  • Experience in construction at Department of Energy facilities; Los Alamos National Laboratory is highly preferred (including TA55, RLW, STO, or CMRR)
  • Familiarity with Standard Work Processes and Procedures at full-time 24/7 multi-system operational facilities
  • OSHA 10 or 30
