About The Position

The Scion Group is looking for an organized and detail-oriented individual to add value to the Facilities & Capital Projects team. This position will focus on supporting capital project coordination through software management, reporting, budgeting, and administrative support to help ensure capital initiatives are executed efficiently across Scion’s portfolio. Scion’s internship program provides a unique opportunity for ambitious college students to learn, contribute, and gain real-world work experience in a collaborative environment. Interns have the chance to learn more about Scion’s culture and business while developing practical skills necessary post-graduation. The 10-week program includes 1-on-1 guidance and timely feedback, development opportunities for both soft and technical skills, spotlights on various functions outside of your team, mentorship relationships with company leaders, and networking opportunities with colleagues. The program equips interns with an understanding of working in a professional environment dedicated to providing colleagues and communities with optimal support, expertise, and experience. At the end of your internship, you will have obtained the following experience: Hands-on exposure to facilities operations and capital project management within student housing. Experience working with project management software to track capital projects, budgets, and timelines. Practical experience preparing project status and progress reports for cross-functional stakeholders. Insight into capital budgeting, cost tracking, and basic accounting principles related to capital projects. Experience coordinating with internal teams and third-party vendors. Exposure to contract documentation, compliance tracking (COIs, lien waivers), and invoice processing. Understanding of how long-term capital planning (10-year CAPEX planning) supports asset performance. Professional development through mentorship, feedback, and cross-functional networking opportunities. The responsibilities listed above may not be all inclusive.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in facilities operations, capital projects, real estate, or property management.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with project management or capital planning software is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting, invoicing, or accounting concepts preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to professionalism, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be willing to work full-time for the full 10-week term of the program, beginning June 8, 2026.
  • Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required. We do not offer sponsorship for this position.
  • All positions require pre-employment background check verification and a pre-employment drug screen.
