As a Construction Project Engineer at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in coordinating construction submittals and managing requests for information (RFIs) within the modular scope. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to assist with a range of project tasks, including budgeting, scheduling, and procurement. You will collaborate closely with Project Managers and contribute directly to project success by maintaining clear and consistent communication with customers. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure that project goals are met and project documentation is organized and up to date. This is a full-time, onsite role located in Austin, Texas . This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and has strong attention to detail.

  • Maintains and organizes project-specific tasks, including submittal approvals and RFI management.
  • Assists with material procurement, ensuring the confirmation of materials on hand prior to production.
  • Supports scheduling, budgeting, and project implementation with input from project managers.
  • Assists with the preparation of the schedule of values and project planning for approval by management.
  • Prepares project schedules in collaboration with project staff and the Scheduling Department.
  • Assists with managing change orders with clients, architects, and engineers.
  • Completes all required reports in a timely manner.
  • Assists with preparation of Subcontracts, Purchase Orders, requisitions, proposals, etc.
  • Attends weekly OAC coordination meetings and calls.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial construction, ideally in a project support role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other project management tools.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with an emphasis on collaboration.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing construction environment.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
