The Capital Projects division serves The Wonderful Company with expert project management, focusing on consistent and predictable results for our business partners. We bring technical and process expertise, and unparalleled communication with customers, vendors, contactors, and members of the project team. We are looking to add another Project Engineer to our growing team to continue to drive results for the Wonderful Company. The Project Engineer will have a hybrid roll which will include responsibilities of execution of the administrative and technical aspects of constructing a project. This position will require the Project Engineer to be the main conduit of information between the Project Manager and the team regarding contact documents, including preparation of plans and documentation for bid process, RFI, Submittal and Change Order logs and replies. Perform regular site visits to identify and report on product deficiencies and deviations from plans. Record work progress, taking and storing progress photos, and prepare project reporting forms and schedules in a profession format. The Project Engineer will also need to perform administrative tasks such as review pay applications, process invoices, collect releases and organize files. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving skills and the ability to demonstrate sound independent judgement. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Building Construction or related field, or Business with 3-5 years of position-related experience is preferred.
  • General knowledge of construction and the is required, commercial construction preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret design and engineering/architectural drawings.
  • The ability to plan, solicit, negotiate and administer different types of contacts in accordance with established policies and procedures including legal and ethical aspects of procurement procedures, and the selection and evaluation of contactors.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and networking skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook)
  • Proficient in use of Procore
  • Strong organization skills

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Bluebeam or Revit helpful

Responsibilities

  • Review and understand project plans and specification
  • Administrative duties relevant to the project
  • Financial tracking and project updates
  • Document control, preparation of contacts, RFI’s, submittals, change orders
  • Excellent Communication with team members, contractors and business unit stakeholders
  • The ability to perform site visits and identify product deficiencies and deviations from plans or specs.
