About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Office Engineer for our Irvine, CA office. Be involved in projects with our Construction Management Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact Perform quality calculations for progress pay estimates and keep for project records. Draft Change Orders and process for approval. Read and interpret project plans and specifications, including Caltrans Standards Keep logs of contract documents Take meeting minutes Coordinate responses to RFI's and submittals Review certified payroll Assist with document control of project files using various software Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs Maintain continuous communications with the Resident Engineer, construction administration staff, and the District Construction office.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 11 years of relevant construction inspection and/or office engineering experience.
  • Ability to work independently and perform typical construction field office duties.
  • Thorough knowledge of Caltrans construction practices, and the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Thorough knowledge of the construction manual regarding estimates, extra work bidding, change orders, and other administrative duties.
  • Ability to use typical computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, Scheduling software, and Expedition or equivalent.
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening

Nice To Haves

  • Highway/Bridge Office Engineering experience
  • Experience with Falcon Electronic Document Management System (Falcon DMS) a plus, but not necessary.
