About The Position

Serve as the on-site Owner’s Representative for a single data center building, providing daily oversight of construction activities to ensure alignment with project objectives, contract documents, and quality standards. Monitor and drive construction progress against the project schedule, proactively identifying risks to the critical path and working with the General Contractor and trade partners to implement recovery plans. Conduct routine field walks and inspections to verify work is installed in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and QA/QC requirements, escalating deficiencies and ensuring timely resolution. Act as the primary field liaison between the Owner, General Contractor, subcontractors, and commissioning teams, ensuring clear communication, coordination, and accountability across all stakeholders. Identify, document, and resolve field issues related to constructability, sequencing, and trade coordination; drive solutions in real time to prevent delays or rework. Support and validate MEP installation and integration, with particular focus on mission critical systems (power, cooling, and controls) to ensure readiness for commissioning and turnover. Track and report on daily progress, risks, and mitigation strategies, providing concise and actionable updates to owner stakeholders. Participate in and contribute to daily huddles, weekly coordination meetings, and schedule reviews, ensuring alignment across all parties and enforcing accountability for commitments. Ensure site readiness for commissioning and turnover, including verification of system completion, punch list management, and coordination with commissioning agents. Uphold an owner-first mindset, holding contractors accountable to contractual obligations, safety standards, and quality expectations while maintaining project momentum.

Requirements

  • 8–15+ years in construction (must be hands-on, not purely administrative).
  • 5+ years in mission critical/data center environments (REQUIRED).
  • Construction Manager
  • Superintendent (on large-scale builds).

  • For roles that require on-site presence or travel between work locations as an essential function of the position, candidates must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license appropriate for the role and be eligible to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a professional work environment, including preparing written reports and documentation, conveying information clearly to team members, clients, and stakeholders, and responding appropriately to verbal and written communications related to job duties.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, twist, bend, and climb stairs or ladders for extended periods while navigating uneven, unpaved, or obstructed terrain.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to drive between job sites and access all areas of an active construction zone, including raised platforms, scaffolding, and confined spaces.
  • Must be able to tolerate exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and construction-related noise, vibrations, and odors.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and site personnel, and maintain situational awareness in high-activity environments.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety vests, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots, is required.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to read drawings, specifications, and safety signage, and to observe site activity.
