About The Position

The Construction Manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. This role will plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years related experience in construction management with an emphasis in office buildouts and tenant improvements.
  • Professional certification preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction documents
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients.
  • Must be able to understand and communicate effectively in English to tenants, vendors, clients and employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computer and Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation.
  • Lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and project implementation plans, including risk mitigation
  • To coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain within scope, schedule, and defined budgets, in collaboration with project staff from various functional departments
  • Analyze project progress and, when necessary, adapt scope, timelines, and costs to ensure that project team adheres to project requirements
  • Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate client stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
  • Establish and maintain processes to manage scope over the project lifecycle, setting project quality and performance standards, and assessing and managing risk within, and across, multiple projects
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with outside resources—including third-party architects, engineers and vendors
  • Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverable outputs
  • Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalating issues as necessary based on project work plans
