About The Position

Overview: The Construction Manager supports the planning and delivery of a wide range of capital, renovation, and site-based projects across the organization. Reporting directly to the Director of Buildings & Infrastructure, this position plays a central role in coordinating fieldwork, managing vendors and contractors, tracking project performance, and ensuring the successful execution of work across multiple disciplines. This role builds upon the Project Coordinator foundation with greater independence, responsibility, and technical oversight. The ideal candidate will bring practical knowledge, adaptability, and the ability to confidently lead work in the field while maintaining consistent alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive construction or project field experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and deliver complex work in a real-world environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of general construction, civil/site work, and renovation best practices.
  • Ability to operate effectively in changing conditions with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must have a valid and unrestricted (not including corrective lens needs) U.S. Driver's license and must meet the City Park Motor Vehicle policy criteria to become authorized as a driver.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with public agency or state asset project work is a plus.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, PMP) are preferred but not required.
