Overview NexGen is looking for a Construction Manager of Decommissioning to join their team in the Greater Los Angeles Area! Responsibilities Why NexGen? Qualifications The new team member is required to have seven to ten years of experience in construction management, with a minimum of five years’ experience managing industrial projects within existing/operating plant locations. Requirements

  • The new team member is required to have seven to ten years of experience in construction management, with a minimum of five years’ experience managing industrial projects within existing/operating plant locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide construction management support to help develop and execute work to support the decommissioning of the facilities.
  • Coordinate with customer counterparts to develop estimates for the designated areas.
  • Ensure that the scope provided is complete and estimate has proper scope.
  • Coordinate with customer counterpart teams, both electrical and mechanical, to establish scope and schedule of proposed areas.
  • Develop and manage schedules required to perform work in the designated areas as needed.
  • Attend meetings and develop progress reports as required to provide proper coordination and communication for the Dart team.
  • Develop job progress schedule to ensure that actual construction parallels with the schedule.
  • Organize and maintain job files to ensure continuity of workflow.
  • Submit verbal and written reports on project status to management.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with scope of work.
  • Project management/ construction management from inception to completion.
  • Management of construction, process and facility coordination, cost estimating and scheduling.
  • Responsible for executing projects with regard to scope, schedule and budget.
  • Schedule and coordinate all design and construction, including selection, hiring, and oversight of subcontractors.
  • Work closely with subcontractors onsite on a regular basis for project planning, execution, and close out.
  • Responsible for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses for compliance with building and safety codes.
  • Cost control, both internal and external.
  • Time management ensures that projects get completed with the plan.
  • Quality management, ensure construction compliance with contract documents.
  • Safety/Risk management – ensure a safe construction environment and manage risk opportunities.
  • Responsible for the communication, implementation and enforcement of Gray’s safety program on site.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
