This position is responsible for performing continuous inspections of all aspects of construction and renovations as qualified by the Class certification including all structural aspects with documentation in accordance with AHJ requirements at assigned locations. The role involves reporting discrepancies to the General Contractor, Project Manager, and Architect/Engineer of Record, and working with the Project Team for resolution. Responsibilities include reviewing plans and specifications for inspections, developing inspection plans that ensure compliance with Contract Documents and applicable codes, maintaining an ongoing list of work to be corrected by the General Contractor, scheduling regulatory agency inspections, identifying potential construction conflicts, and ensuring all work is in accordance with the NIS Quality Assurance Governess Business Line. Essential responsibilities also include promoting learning in others, facilitating team collaboration, supporting construction operations, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Perform continuous inspections of construction and renovations.
  • Report discrepancies to the General Contractor, Project Manager, and Architect/Engineer of Record.
  • Review plans and specifications for inspections.
  • Develop inspection plans ensuring compliance with Contract Documents and applicable codes.
  • Maintain a list of work to be corrected by the General Contractor.
  • Schedule and coordinate regulatory agency inspections.
  • Identify potential construction conflicts and promote equitable resolutions.
  • Review General Contractors Request for Information.
  • Facilitate Regulatory Agency field review of Instruction Bulletins and Change Orders.
  • Inform team members with observation and compliance updates.
  • Review and verify Change Orders and General Contractors monthly progress payment requests.
  • Ensure all work is in accordance with the NIS Quality Assurance Governess Business Line.
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience in building projects of Type I or Type II construction.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Cost Estimating, Business Administration, Computer Sciences, Finance, Law, or related field AND minimum three (3) years of experience in construction management.
  • OR Minimum six (6) years of experience in construction management, field construction, design, or related field.
  • One of the following certifications: Division of State Architect Project Inspector Certification Class 2, California Commercial Combination Inspector (ICC) - I5 Certification, California Plumbing Inspector (IAPMO) Certification, Electrical Inspector (ICC) - E5 Certification, California Combination Inspector (ICC) - I8 Certification, Combination Inspector (ICC) - C8 Certification, California Commercial Electrical Inspector (ICC) - I2 Certification, Commercial Combination Inspector (ICC) - C5 Certification, Registered Construction Inspector Division II Building (ACIA) Certification, Division of State Architect Project Inspector Certification Class 1, or Hospital Inspector Certification Program, Class A (California).
