About The Position

Paid Summer Internship opportunity - 3 months Grand America Hotels & Resorts is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Construction Management Intern to support the Construction and Capital Projects team across a multi-state hospitality and resort portfolio. This role provides hands-on experience in hotel renovations, capital improvement initiatives, and ground-up or remodel construction projects. The intern will gain exposure to both office-based construction management functions and on-site project administration while working closely with experienced construction leaders.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently with direction.
  • Commitment to safety and professionalism on job sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu preferred.
  • Prior internship or field experience in construction or project management environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining and organizing construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documentation within company systems.
  • Support document control processes, including logging, tracking, and distributing project updates to internal stakeholders and trade partners.
  • Assist with quantity take-offs and preliminary cost estimating efforts.
  • Support preparation and tracking of bid packages, scopes of work, subcontractor proposals, and procurement documentation.
  • Assist with coordination and tracking of materials for renovation and capital projects.
  • Support Project Managers with on-site construction administration activities.
  • Participate in job site safety walks and assist with safety documentation.
  • Assist with quality control inspections, checklist tracking, and project close-out documentation.
  • Maintain organized project files in accordance with company standards.
  • Travel periodically to project sites across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Arizona as needed.
