Job Description: Summer 2026 Construction Management Internship Parsons is now accepting applications for our Summer 2026 Construction Management Internship program in the Kansas City, MO area! POSITION OVERVIEW: Under direction of a degreed engineer or a project manager, performs a variety of basic to moderately-difficult engineering and administrative functions to support assignments requiring a fundamental knowledge of design/drafting standards, practices, and techniques. The incumbent at this level typically takes engineering notes, review/prepare documents, specifications, rough sketches, etc. Assignments are designed to develop a practical knowledge of equipment, facilities, and systems, and their interrelationships within a particular engineering discipline and construction project management.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an engineering field.
  • Major GPA greater than 3.25/4.00
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Must graduate after September 1, 2026
  • Must be willing to commute to Kansas City office 4 days a week.
  • Must be able to pass a government background check.
  • Understanding of CAD

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes a CAD workstation to prepare engineering drawings consisting of basic arrangements, layouts, flow sheets, assemblies, isometrics, etc., from rough sketches and/or from general engineering and design information according to established standards and procedures.
  • Perform administrative tasks as assigned by a project manager.
  • Supports project management activities such as maintaining schedules, reviewing shop drawings, keeping meeting minutes, drafting reports and plans.
  • Utilizes technical manuals and directives to ensure compliance with codes and company policies.
  • Becomes familiar with various standards and codes such as ANSI, PFI, and ASME.
  • Compiles data and performs dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
