About The Position

This role is an entry-level position that requires a motivated, self-starting professional who embodies Redland’s values and is committed to ongoing personal and professional growth. This role supports the construction management team by assisting with cost estimation, contract administration, and cost and schedule management for land development projects while developing technical skills through completion of positional Learning & Growth goals. Responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues, taking ownership of assigned tasks, and seeking to understand the broader context and objectives of each task, all while producing creative, high-quality work. In this role, you will be: Providing support to team members and Project Manager(s) as required. Assisting with cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid document preparation for civil, earthwork, landscape, and irrigation improvements. Assisting in constructability and value engineering reviews during design phases. Supporting the development and coordination of bid documents, scopes of work, and contract provisions. Performing construction observation and reporting under direction of senior staff. Assisting with construction administration tasks including documentation of meetings, processing RFIs and submittals, and logging change orders. Monitoring project schedules and providing updates with oversight. Supporting punchlist walks and project closeout activities. Participating in mentoring programs and Redland’s Associate Rotation Program to broaden experience. Performing other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Possessing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in construction management or civil engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
  • Holding 0-3 years of construction and/or civil engineering experience primarily focused on private sector land development projects.
  • Possessing foundational knowledge of construction practices, including roadway, utility, and storm drainage.
  • Beginner Level proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Maintaining efficiency and attention to detail by completing and reviewing work for accuracy and completeness prior to providing to others.
  • Organizing work according to the company’s file naming and filing standards.
  • Understanding project goals, project schedules, and budgets, and working efficiently within direction provided by project manager(s) and team members.
  • Demonstrating strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Being a self-starter who is self-motivated and takes ownership of tasks.
  • Seeking to understand the broader objectives and context of each project.
  • Exhibiting a commitment to continuous learning by engaging in Redland’s mentoring programs and completing position-specific Learning and Growth goals.

  • This position is in-person at our office in Littleton, Colorado and on-site at construction projects when required.
  • Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites.
  • Provide repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse.
  • Occasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Read, communicate, and document in English.
  • Identify color.
