JMT's Pittsburgh Facility Construction Management Team is searching for an Entry Level Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with: (1) providing construction project oversite using knowledge of design and construction methods and utilize industry Best Practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments with limited supervision, (2) ensuring work is performed and completed in accordance to the contract documents, and (3) providing support to other team members, and (4) other tasks as may be assigned by the Project Manager/Supervisor. This position is a fully on-site opportunity in the Pittsburgh, PA region. Remote work is not available for this opportunity. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.

Requirements

  • Computer proficiency
  • Active driver’s license and reliable motor vehicle
  • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited engineering or construction management program

Nice To Haves

  • 0-4 years of construction management inspection experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, scheduling and coordinating work throughout the various phases of the project.
  • May be responsible for a portion of a large project or the entirety of a small to medium size project.
  • Read and interpret construction documents such as drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, testing and inspection reports, maps, aerial photography, topographical surveys etc.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure work is being provided in accordance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Prepare reports and logs such as inspector daily reports, review, submittals, RFI’s, etc. and make recommendations on appropriateness
  • Assist with reviewing construction cost budgets and estimates
  • Assist in the assembling of documents for advertisement and procurement activities
  • Manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines
  • Assist in preparation of proposals as required
  • Attend various meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes
  • Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure project completion by the defined milestones and established quality guidelines
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
