About The Position

HireNow Staffing is partnering with a nationally respected Am Law 200 firm to recruit a seasoned Construction Litigation Associate Attorney for its Los Angeles office. This role is designed for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, consistent courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to deepen expertise within a sophisticated construction-focused practice. This is a selective search . Candidates must meet the stated experience requirements to be considered for interview. The Opportunity The Construction Business Unit handles complex disputes involving construction projects, engineering and design issues, and related commercial matters. Associates are trusted with primary file responsibility and are actively involved in litigation strategy, client interaction, and court proceedings. This role offers hands-on experience in high stakes matters, a collaborative team environment, and exposure to both litigation and negotiation within the construction industry.

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of construction litigation experience only (strict requirement)
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active and in-good-standing California Bar admission
  • Hands-on courtroom experience, including motion practice and depositions
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters with attention to detail and organization
  • Proven work ethic and reliability in fast-paced litigation environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience handling matters involving construction, engineering, or architecture
  • Familiarity with insurance defense processes related to construction disputes
  • Experience working with expert witnesses and technical consultants
  • Strong negotiation skills and comfort participating in mediations or settlement conferences
  • Background at an Am Law, regional, or construction-focused litigation firm

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned construction litigation matters with primary file responsibility
  • Draft and argue motions, including dispositive and discovery-related motions
  • Take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and fact witnesses
  • Conduct legal research and draft persuasive pleadings, briefs, and memoranda
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit management
  • Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and case strategy discussions
  • Collaborate with partners and team members to deliver effective client advocacy
