About The Position

Assist Senior Inspectors in performing construction oversight and inspection duties. Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings. Monitor construction activities for compliance with quality standards and specifications. Conduct field audits of developer and Independent Construction Quality Assurance (ICQA) processes. Inspect roadways, structures, and drainage systems for conformance to project requirements. Observe and support the verification of materials sampling and testing (soils, aggregate, asphalt, concrete). Attend pre-activity meetings with contractors and quality teams. Document inspection findings and prepare electronic reports. Uphold and promote safety practices in all construction activities. Requirements

  • High School and 2 years of (roadway) related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Basic proficiency of highway construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications.
  • Proficiency in using computers and office equipment for documentation and reporting.
  • Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive company vehicles to project sites.
  • As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Must be able to work in various field conditions including heights, live traffic, water proximity, and adverse weather.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical training in civil engineering, construction management, or related field and 5 years of (roadway construction) related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education is a plus
  • Prior experience on large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with GDOT standards and procedures.
  • Certifications from technical organizations such as: American Concrete Institute (ACI) Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) inspection certifications
  • Proficiency in geometry and trigonometry as applied to construction surveying and layout.
  • Proficient communication skills - written and verbal
