Join us and be part of a collaborative environment where your ambitions are united with ours, and you can truly shape your story.   We are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to provide on-site inspection services for the demolition and new construction of a wastewater pump station, with a strong emphasis on structural elements and geotechnical support systems. This position ensures compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations throughout demolition, excavation, and site restoration. The role is onsite at client locations around New York City.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or technical certification; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in construction inspection, preferably in water/wastewater infrastructure, structural demolition, and excavation support systems.
  • Familiarity with structural inspection standards for concrete and steel, and geotechnical systems (SOE, soil and mixed walls, piles).
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (OSHA, ACI, ASTM, IBC, AWWA).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel to project sites.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Bluebeam, Trimble Unity Construct, and other relevant software to summarize inspection findings, analyze data, and track progress.
  • Experience working on NYCDEP projects.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET Level II or higher in Construction or Water/Wastewater Systems.
  • ICC Special Inspector (Concrete, Structural Steel) or ACI Concrete Special Inspector.
  • OSHA 10/30 Certification.
  • Confined Space Entry Training.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect all construction activities involving structural concrete and steel components, as well as geotechnical systems (SOE, sheet piles, soldier piles, mixed walls, and foundation work).
  • Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA safety standards, project specifications, and environmental requirements.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, demolition plans, and geotechnical plans.
  • Document daily activities, including labor, equipment, materials, and progress reports.
  • Verify proper handling and disposal of debris and hazardous materials per regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversee installation and removal of temporary shoring systems and piles.
  • Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to resolve field issues.
  • Maintain accurate records including daily reports, change orders, and redline drawings.
  • Support quality control and assurance processes during demolition, excavation, and structural removal.
