Requirements

  • Knowledge of the practices used, and the equipment required on construction projects, particularly in the areas of roadway grading, paving and bridge operations.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) IQP qualifications or willingness to take required exams to obtain them preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, observe, and ensure construction projects—including road construction, mass grading and excavation and bridges are completed in accordance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Interpret plans and specifications to contractors and clients.
  • Prepare and maintain records of plans, inspections, letters, and reports used in connection with roadway and bridge inspection.
  • Identify contract changes and assist in preparation of change orders.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
