Your Opportunity + Impact LDG is currently seeking qualified Construction Inspectors for heavy Civil and Water/Wastewater type projects in Canandaigua, NY. Candidates with experience in water/wastewater treatment plants, roadway construction, and trench work will be considered. Project documentation requires detailed daily reports with basic computer skills.

Requirements

  • GED or high school diploma required.
  • Licensures/Certifications: NICET Level II or higher in Highway Construction, NECEPT Bituminous Field & Concrete, and ACI preferred
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Construction Inspection experience preferred.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, observes, and documents construction activities for Civil and /or Transportation projects including description of contractor work activities, labor and equipment identification and quantity, and performance of various measurements of payment.
  • Uses computer software programs to document observations and create inspection reports.
  • Continuously monitors work of contractors and communicates regularly with project team to ensure timely completion of project.
  • Interacts with clients, contractors, sub-contractors, government agency representatives, and other parties on a regular basis.
  • Communicates information, responds to inquiries, and helps resolve field issues to ensure successful completion of projects.
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining required certifications.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Utilizes technical references appropriately for the inspection of structural, concrete, earthwork, building, and mechanical components.
