About The Position

RK&K is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to support water and wastewater facility construction projects in the York/Lancaster region. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in site, structural, process mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation & control (I&C) systems, with priority experience in treatment plant and facility construction. Join our growing Construction Management & Inspection team and play a key role in delivering critical water infrastructure projects to local communities.  

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of senior-level inspection experience on water/wastewater treatment facility projects involving site, structural, process mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and I&C work.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, industry standards, and relevant building codes.
  • Proficiency in interpreting construction plans, technical specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Solid experience with project documentation, scheduling, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate among project stakeholders.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or similar preferred
  • Certifications such as CCM, PMP, DBIA, NICET, or state-specific construction inspection credentials.
  • Familiarity with QA/QC implementation and construction safety standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and other digital construction documentation systems.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing inspection teams on complex infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site inspection, documentation, and oversight for water and wastewater facility construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Monitor and document construction activities across disciplines including site/civil, structural, process mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and I&C installations.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, quantity records, photos, RFIs, submittals, and progress documentation to support project records.
  • Participate in progress meetings, coordinate with contractors, engineers, and owners, and assist in resolving field issues promptly.
  • Support QA/QC processes, including material inspections, testing coordination, and verification of work against approved submittals and specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to safety requirements and proactively identify potential risks or non-conformance issues.
  • Utilize digital tools (Microsoft Office, Procore, or similar platforms) for reporting and communication.
