About The Position

WMATA is undergoing a multi-year Strategic Transformation to deliver safer, more reliable, and customer-focused transit across the Washington DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia region. Requirements

  • Graduate from trade school and 8 years’ experience; or (2) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and 12 years field experience in related discipline. (3) Graduation from college in related technical or engineering courses and 4 years field experience in related discipline.
  • Construction and/or technical inspection experience in areas of assigned responsibilities is required; Level required dependent on education level reached.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully completing any required background checks, in accordance with applicable law.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains through familiarity with plans/drawings, specifications, regulations, contractor’s schedule and plan, safety standards and regulations, approved working drawings, trade industry quality standards and codes, in order to evaluate the contractor’s performance with respect to thereto and recognize when a probable changed site condition exists
  • Serves as WMATA escort for field inspection teams through job site(s) and Bus/Rail operating facilities
  • Prepares draft letters for the Authority Representative relative to matters of technical expertise
  • Uses electronic tools (including but not limited to digital camera, laptop, radio, cell phone) in the performance of duties.
