About The Position

Merit General Contractors, LLC is currently seeking a Construction & Facilities Coordinator. POSITION SUMMARY The Field Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations across multiple properties, including repairs, maintenance coordination, small project execution, and on-site construction support. This role serves as a rover, providing hands-on assistance and supervision to ensure properties and projects are maintained to company standards. Key Responsibilities: Property Maintenance & Facilities Support Perform and/or coordinate general maintenance and repair work across retail and commercial properties Identify maintenance issues proactively and recommend solutions Manage third-party vendors and ensure quality and timely completion of work Assist with budgeting and tracking of maintenance expenses Project Management (Small Projects / TI / CapEx) Oversee small construction projects, tenant improvements, and property upgrades Coordinate scheduling, materials, and subcontractors Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget Maintain documentation, photos, and progress reports Field Supervision / Superintendent Support Act as on-site representative for select projects when needed Enforce safety standards and company policies Coordinate with superintendents, project managers, and subcontractors Conduct site walks and quality control inspections General Operations Travel between properties as needed (roving role) Respond to urgent maintenance or project needs Maintain strong relationships with tenants, vendors, and internal teams Skills & Abilities: Education Graduation from high school, with diploma. Education in construction or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. Technical Skills: Knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Procore. Effective oral communication and writing skills. Knowledge of construction principles and techniques. Ability to problem solve, forward think, and plan ahead. Qualifications: 37+ years experience in commercial construction, facilities maintenance, or related field Strong understanding of basic construction trades (electrical, plumbing, framing, etc.) Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities simultaneously Good communication and problem-solving skills Comfortable being both hands-on and supervisory Drivers License Required:?Yes (clear MVR required) Other Requirements: A comprehensive understanding of construction methods, materials, and processes. Proficient in reading and understanding architectural and engineering drawings. First Aid training.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school, with diploma.
  • Knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective oral communication and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of construction principles and techniques.
  • Ability to problem solve, forward think, and plan ahead.
  • 37+ years experience in commercial construction, facilities maintenance, or related field
  • Strong understanding of basic construction trades (electrical, plumbing, framing, etc.)
