About The Position

The Construction Compliance Technician is responsible for cleanup, repair, and replacement of various household items in, but not limited to vacant properties, to ensure a safe and attractive living environment for residents. Additionally, the role supports municipal compliance inspections for rental properties, ensuring adherence to local regulations, performing necessary repairs, and coordinating with city inspectors. Some of these properties will be occupied. This position is provided a work van that goes home with the employee nightly. Valid drivers license required. Motor vehicle report ran with background upon offer acceptance to check driving record in the past 3 years for driving insurability.

Requirements

  • Skilled in installation, troubleshooting, repair of, but not limited to the items listed above
  • Experience in leveraging technology (laptop, iPad, iPhones, etc.)
  • Ability to work on-call and overtime hours, as needed
  • Ability to correspond (in writing and verbally) effectively with team members, residents, and vendors
  • Work safely, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years maintenance/construction background
  • Commitment to serving residents in accordance to Tricon Residential’s Standards of Service
  • Must be able to work in environmentally and physically challenging working conditions
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing 50lbs or more regularly
  • Valid drivers license required.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate clearly, compassionately, and with empathy when speaking with team members, residents, vendors and city inspectors
  • Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with team members, residents, vendors and municipal officials
  • Collaborate with supervisor, Project Coordinators, Superintendents, and others to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Support municipal compliance inspections by preparing properties for inspection, addressing code violations, and ensuring rental properties meet all local ordinances and standards
  • Perform necessary repairs identified during inspections to bring properties into compliance
  • Liaison with Tricon’s Compliance Team to coordinate and interface with city inspectors to schedule, facilitate, and finalize compliance inspections
  • Maintain thorough documentation of inspection results, repairs, and communications with municipal officials
  • Have common knowledge of state & city code compliance
  • Consistently maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, door, window, drywall, painting, hardware, and HVAC repairs, including testing, troubleshooting, and replacing components as needed.
  • Install Smart Home systems, ensuring proper functionality and system integration.
  • Keep the work environment clean and safe, adhering to safety standards and practices.
  • Accurately track time, work orders, and job progress using technology to ensure efficiency and data accuracy.
