About The Position

TSMC Arizona Corporation’s Legal Department supports the company’s rapidly growing operations in Phoenix, Arizona, by providing exceptional legal services to achieve business goals while minimizing undue risk. We seek an experienced Construction & Commercial Litigation Attorney with excellent problem-solving skills and a can-do spirit that embodies our core values – Integrity, Commitment, Innovation and Customer Trust. The Construction & Commercial Litigation Attorney will oversee all construction-related legal matters, drive litigation strategy, and deliver proactive counseling that translates complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance. Responsibilities include: contract strategy and negotiation; change management; supplier dispute resolution; training internal clients to mitigate risks before issues arise; managing outside counsel for transactional and litigation matters; insurance claims and investigations; and regulatory compliance matters. The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to: Coordinate action among internal stakeholders across a large, highly matrixed and dispersed decision-making environment; Advise all levels of management on the legal risks and liabilities relevant to various business activities; Anticipate and proactively address emerging legal issues that could impact the company; Juggle multiple matters simultaneously and adapt quickly to shifting priorities; Support active construction projects by providing timely legal guidance on delays, changes in scope, claims preservation and dispute escalation; Develop litigation strategy for a broad portfolio of matters and provide clear recommendations to business leaders regarding exposure, settlement, and trial posture; Oversee discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, administrative proceedings and trials in collaboration with other in-house legal team members and outside counsel.

Requirements

  • 7 to 10 years of relevant experience gained in a law firm and/or in-house position with demonstrated ability to perform the above listed key responsibilities.
  • U.S. law degree from an accredited university
  • Bar license in good standing from a U.S. state
  • Permission to work in the United States
  • Ability to undertake occasional business travel to Taiwan
