About The Position

The Construction Billing Specialist plays a key role in supporting the financial health of projects by ensuring accurate, timely billing and strong coordination between Operations and Accounting. This role is responsible for managing project billing processes including progress billing, T M billing, change order tracking, and client invoicing. The ideal candidate understands construction workflows and can work closely with Project Managers to keep billing aligned with project performance.

Requirements

• 3+ years of construction billing experience preferred
• Experience with progress billing and T M billing required
• Familiarity with change orders and schedules of values
• Strong understanding of construction project lifecycle
• Proficient in Excel
• Experience with construction ERP or accounting systems preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Effective communicator who can work cross functionally with field and office teams
• Underground utilities, civil, or infrastructure construction experience preferred
• AIA billing familiarity
• Experience supporting Project Managers directly

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit monthly progress billings based on percent complete or contract milestones
• Process time and material billing with proper supporting documentation
• Track and bill approved change orders
• Ensure billing aligns with contract terms and schedules of values
• Partner with Project Managers to review job cost reports and billing status
• Maintain accurate billing records across multiple active projects
• Review contracts to understand billing requirements and compliance needs
• Assist with lien waivers, pay applications, and supporting documentation
• Monitor unbilled costs and ensure timely invoicing
• Support Accounts Receivable team with collections and billing questions
• Reconcile billing against project budgets and commitments
• Maintain strong communication between Accounting, Operations, and Clients
