About The Position

Minutemen Direct has an immediate opening for a Construction Accounting Specialist experienced with construction cost structures and job cost systems. This is a direct hire opportunity on 1st shift and pay is $70K-$90K range. This role will support our construction and project management operations and will oversee job cost accounting, accounts payable, contract billing, and financial reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3 years of construction accounting or job cost experience.
• Proficient in QuickBooks, Sage 300, Viewpoint, or similar construction accounting software.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and construction-specific accounting procedures.
• Attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify vendor invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Manage all aspects of job cost accounting, including cost tracking, budget-to actual analysis, and project profitability reporting.
• Prepare and process AIA billings, lien wavers, and subcontractor pay applications.
• Maintain general leger entries, reconcile accounts , and assist with month-end-and year-end closing.
• Support project managers with financial insights and cost status updates.
• Monitor compliance with contract terms and insurance requirements.
• Assist with audits, budget preparation, and continuous process improvements.
• Work closely with the accounting manager to prepare financial statements and forecasts.
