About The Position

Johns Service & Sales out of Oglesby, IL is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our growing team! The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced office environment. Pay: Up to $65K (DOE) Type: Full time permanent position on site Shift: 1 st shift M-F

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of professional Accounting / Control experience , preferably in construction or mechanical contracting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, accruals, accounting principles, and financial regulations and WIP.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Professional demeanor and effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Union payroll a plus!
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Quickbooks.
• Experience with Spectrum / UKG is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and records.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Monitor budgets, forecast financial performance, and provide insights to management.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations.
• Assist with audits and tax preparation, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
• Support management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
