About The Position

We are seeking an engaging, knowledgeable, and dynamic Professional Development Presenter to design and deliver high-quality training for K-12 educators focused on backwards planning with language development alongside content instruction. The ideal candidate has experience supporting English language development, with backwards design frameworks, and demonstrated expertise using Constructing Meaning or similar language-embedded pedagogical tools. The presenter will lead interactive workshops, coaching sessions, and model lessons that empower teachers to integrate academic language targets with grade-level content objectives across all subject areas.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Mapleton Public Schools employee.
  • Must have a current (active) Colorado teaching license.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting English language development for K-12 students, including measurable improvements in language proficiency and academic engagement.
  • Proven expertise in backwards planning, Documented experience using Constructing Meaning resources, including strategies for identifying language demands, teaching functional language, and supporting rigorous academic discourse.
  • Experience training or coaching educators in diverse K-12 settings.
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to lead engaging adult learning experiences.
  • Knowledge of culturally and linguistically responsive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

  • Professional Learning Design & Facilitation Develop and deliver engaging, interactive professional development sessions for K-12 educators focused on: Backwards planning aligned to standards.
  • Integration of academic language development with content learning.
  • Effective scaffolding and differentiation for multilingual learners.
  • Use and implementation of Constructing Meaning strategies and tools.
  • Model instructional practices that demonstrate language-rich, student-centered learning environments.
  • Instructional Support Support educators in unpacking content standards, identifying language demands, and crafting meaningful language objectives.
  • Provide feedback and follow-up support to help teachers apply training concepts in their classrooms.
  • Collaborate with instructional leaders to tailor PD to site-specific needs and student populations.
  • Create and adapt training materials, templates, and planning tools aligned with the Constructing Meaning framework.
