This position is assigned to 2nd Shift (2:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m.) or 3rd Shift (10:00 p.m. 6:00 a.m.). Shift differentials may apply Job Description General Functions: Provides 24 hour radio and telephone communications for the Security Operation of the Orange County Convention Center. Receives, processes and forwards information within the Convention Center including emergency calls. Requires use of computer terminals, telephones, radios and electronic equipment. Will be responsible for the accurate, rapid and effective data entry of all information into the security log. Work is performed under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor. Work is reviewed in progress and upon completion.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent and one year of experience in a multi-task environment communicating directly with the general public using a radio or telephone.
  • Maybe required to possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Driver License.

Responsibilities

  • Operates radio, telephone and electronic communications.
  • Receives telephone calls and serves as point of contact for Security.
  • Processes information, dispatches Security personnel as required.
  • Notifies emergency agencies (Orange County Sheriff Office and/or Orange County Fire Rescue) regarding current emergency situations.
  • Remains on the phone during emergency situations to collect additional information (bomb threats, medical).
  • Maintains log of relevant activities.
  • Monitors and operates remote Closed Caption Television (CCT) system and fire alarm system.
  • Acknowledges fire alarms, gathers information and directs Security personnel to the alarm point(s). Coordinates with on scene Security personnel to resolve the situation.
  • Maintains other records as required.
  • Meets the Center of Hospitality (CoH) standards.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
