About The Position

The Console Installer is responsible for the accurate installation and rigging of helm consoles in newly manufactured boats. This role includes mounting consoles, integrating steering and control systems, wiring electronics, and ensuring all helm components operate correctly. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship. Marine experience is preferred, but we are willing to train a motivated individual with the right skills and work ethic.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or marine systems training preferred
  • Experience installing boat consoles or helm systems in manufacturing or marine service environments strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of marine wiring standards (ABYC knowledge is a plus)
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to stand, kneel, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs in a production setting
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience installing boat consoles or helm systems in manufacturing or marine service environments strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of marine wiring standards (ABYC knowledge is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Install center, side, and dual consoles according to production schedules and engineering specifications
  • Rig steering systems, throttle and shift controls, trim switches, and engine control assemblies
  • Install and connect gauges, switches, multifunction displays, and other helm electronics
  • Route and secure wiring harnesses and control cables for reliability and serviceability
  • Mount and seal consoles to deck surfaces using proper hardware and adhesives
  • Perform operational testing of steering, electrical, and control systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation or performance issues
  • Collaborate with electrical, plumbing, and engine rigging teams to ensure proper system integration
  • Maintain high standards of fit, finish, and overall appearance of the helm area
  • Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area
