The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) is seeking to hire Conservation/Historic Preservation Workers (CW’s) for temporary seasonal positions not exceeding six months, to work at various locations throughout Illinois, including the Kaskaskia River State Fish & Wildlife Area. Under immediate supervision, CW’s will perform routine maintenance and janitorial duties for site buildings and public use areas, which includes groundskeeping, cleaning facilities like shelters, shower houses, and privies, and managing trash and debris. They will also be responsible for operating and performing routine maintenance on equipment and vehicles, such as cleaning and repairing hand tools, and changing fluids and filters. Additionally, CW’s will assist with habitat management and various hunting programs. Some positions may also involve site interpretation.
