About The Position

Henry Street Settlement opens doors of opportunity to enrich lives and expand human progress for Lower East Side residents and other New Yorkers through social services, arts, and health care programs. Building on its 125-year legacy of innovation and effective programming, Henry Street offers more than 50 programs and is one of New York City’s largest social service agencies. Henry Street Settlement’s newest health and wellness initiative, CONNECT (Continuous Engagement between Community and Clinic Treatment), serves adults in the Lower East Side who face challenges related to mental health, housing instability, and employment barriers. CONNECT bridges traditional clinical care with community-based engagement, meeting clients where they are—literally and figuratively—to support recovery, stability, and empowerment. The program’s mission is to improve quality of life by promoting rapid access to care, sustained engagement, and holistic wellness. CONNECT’s flexible model integrates mental health treatment, peer support, housing and employment resources, and community outreach, emphasizing accessibility, cultural responsiveness, and long-term recovery. The CONNECT Clinician provides individual, group, and family therapy within a hybrid clinical and community-based model. As part of an interdisciplinary team, the clinician helps clients achieve recovery and self-defined goals through person-centered, trauma-informed care. This role blends traditional clinical responsibilities—such as intake, assessment, and evidence-based treatment—with active fieldwork that includes home visits, off-site sessions, and collaboration with community partners. The clinician also supports clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use needs through integrated treatment approaches and wellness planning.
