About The Position

Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 60 firm, is seeking a Conflicts Counsel to join our team. We are an Am Law 60 firm, and this role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with a dynamic team in a fast‑paced environment, providing firmwide guidance on conflict-of-interest analysis across new matters, lateral hires, and ongoing client relationships. We are open to considering a hybrid or remote work arrangement for candidates who demonstrate strong qualifications and relevant experience. No Agencies Please As Conflicts Counsel, you will ensure accurate and timely conflict clearance while managing multiple priorities. You’ll analyze and resolve conflicts for new and existing matters, apply ethics rules and firm policies, and collaborate with attorneys to evaluate waivers and secure approvals. You will advise the Conflicts Partner on complex issues, document resolutions for audit readiness, and maintain data integrity in the conflicts database. Additional responsibilities include supporting lateral hire diligence and coordinating with recruiting and leadership to mitigate potential conflicts. We Know You The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of experience and can demonstrate conceptual and practical expertise in conflicts analysis. Strong analytical skills are essential for evaluating complex issues and applying firm policies and ethics rules to resolve conflicts. The role requires excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to make decisions that impact client relationships and operational processes. Experience with tools such as Intapp, Dropbox, OneDrive, iManage, and Filesite is a significant plus. Candidates should exhibit the ability to work under time-intensive deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. Requirements

  • 4–5 years of professional experience in law firm conflicts, ethics, or risk management
  • Juris Doctor degree (or equivalent specialized training in conflicts/business intake)
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in law firm conflicts, ethics, or risk management
  • Strong analytical skills are essential for evaluating complex issues and applying firm policies and ethics rules to resolve conflicts.
  • Excellent judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to make decisions that impact client relationships and operational processes.
  • Exhibit the ability to work under time-intensive deadlines while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Nice To Haves
