Confirmations & Counterparty Management Analyst

About The Position

Cenovus is seeking a Confirmations & Counterparty Management Analyst to join our Risk department. This position is responsible for managing commodity trade confirmations, counterparty set-up and management, and system information / master data maintenance. This role spans a variety of commodities, including but not limited to refined products, NGLs, RINs, asphalt and industrial products. This role promotes segregation of duties and compliance to facilitate Downstream commercial activities of the Trading, Supply & Logistics and Marketing groups at Cenovus.

Requirements

Legally authorized to work in the US
Post-Secondary education in either business, finance or legal
2+ years of work history required; exposure to commodity trading/marketing environments, ETRM platforms, and/or SAP is a plus

Responsibilities

Manage daily trade confirmations using a variety of energy trading and risk management systems (ETRM) platforms.
Ensure trade confirmations are in accordance with commercial contracts, are confirmed within the system of record and are executed by the appropriate signing authority level (as required).
Distribute finalized trade confirmations to third parties; review incoming documentation for discrepancies; follow-up with traders, counterparties and brokers as required.
Perform initial Know Your Customer (KYC) screening and maintain ongoing screening.
Perform customer set-up and ensure systems of record (trading and enterprise resource planning systems) are kept current with appropriate counterparty data.
Coordinate with Vendor Services to request Vendor set-ups in electronic payment system (SAP).
