About The Position

The Configuration Manager will be responsible for overseeing the configuration management process, ensuring that all systems and software are accurately documented and maintained. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage configurations, support the development and deployment processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity and consistency of system configurations throughout their lifecycle.

Requirements

  • U.S Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • This position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.
  • You can be based out of following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • At least 4 years of experience in configuration management or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of configuration management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a government contracting environment.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and services.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement configuration management plans.
  • Ensure that all configuration changes are properly documented and tracked.
  • Maintain and manage configuration baselines.
  • Create and maintain configuration documentation, including system specifications, design documents, and change records.
  • Implement change control processes to ensure all changes are reviewed, approved, and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless integration of configuration changes.
  • Manage and support system integration efforts to maintain consistency and integrity across all systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to configuration management policies and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve configuration management issues.
  • Provide support for system outages and other technical issues related to configuration management.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in configuration management.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve configuration management processes and practices.
  • Generate regular reports on configuration management activities.
  • Analyze configuration data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with program management and other stakeholders to ensure configuration management requirements are met.
  • Participate in meetings, reviews, and project planning sessions.
