About The Position

Our company is seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to establish and maintain configuration management for hardware, software, and network CIs. They will control and documents authorized changes, conduct audits, and provide accurate status accounting. They support change/release practices, produce CM baselines and reports, and advances automation (e.g., IaC) to streamline provisioning and deployments while minimizing service disruption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of IT experience, with preferred experience with SDLC, DevOps automation, change management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams across IT and business units.
  • Familiarity with federal standards and regulations, and the ability to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Define and document configuration items (CIs) within the IT environment, including hardware, software, and network components using ServiceNow.
  • Coordinate and manage changes to configuration items, ensuring only authorized modifications are implemented.
  • Conduct audits and verifications to confirm accurate implementation and maintenance of configuration items.
  • Oversee change coordination in the IT environment to minimize disruption, ensuring proper testing and documentation.
  • Support the government with change and release management of new or updated hardware and software components, ensuring proper testing and deployment.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and reporting on configuration items, performance, and status of the IT environment.
  • Automate provisioning and de-provisioning of virtual machines, storage, and network components based on demand.
  • Lead the development of infrastructure-as-code solutions to enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Streamline application and update deployments using automation tools to ensure timely and issue-free rollouts.
