General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Configuration/Change Manager in San Antonio, Texas. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding and application of technical principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Proven experience in configuration/change management and continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Ability to influence and secure internal resources and support.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend the best Configuration Management (CM) tools.
  • Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Improve and lead the configuration management processes for effective control and capture of configuration changes.
  • Maintain an accurate and compliant CMDB or PDM, reflecting "as-configured state" and historical configurations.
  • Conduct baseline identification, change control, status accounting, and configuration reviews.
  • Maintain and execute comprehensive change implementation plans, including validation steps, escalation plans, and rollback methods.
  • Oversee the SCR database and bi-weekly Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Manage SCRs through the entire change process and lead CCB meetings for reviewing change requests.
  • Administer program CCB and Technical Review Board (TRB) meetings.
  • Ensure standardized methods, processes, and procedures for handling changes.
  • Deliver weekly status reports on planned/unplanned changes.
  • Inform program leadership of discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Recommend policy changes and establish procedures.
  • Evaluate CM tools and recommend the best options.
