About The Position

Develops, implements, and oversees all configuration management (CM) activities for PMW 790 systems. Lead a team of CM specialists, driving the overall CM strategy, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all hardware, software, and documentation throughout the system lifecycle. Chairs the Configuration Control Board (CCB), and manages the end-to-end change process from Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to implementation. Hands-on leader, adept at both high-level strategy and detailed process execution, ensuring compliance with Navy CM policies and procedures. Travel is not required.

Requirements

  • Must have at least ten (10) of experience in Configuration Management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

  • Strategic CM Oversight: Develops, implements, and maintains comprehensive Configuration Management Plans (CMPs) and best practices tailored to program requirements. Establishes and enforces configuration control policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and templates to guide the team. Leads, mentors, and manages a team of Configuration Analysts, overseeing their day-to-day responsibilities and professional development.
  • Change Management: Oversees the tracking and processing of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), ensuring the team maintains rigorous review, approval, and traceability standards. Directs the maintenance and enhancement of configuration status accounting systems (e.g., CMPRO, JIRA, Confluence) to ensure data is current for audits and reporting. Manages the preparation of reports and metrics on CM activities, discrepancies, and audit outcomes for leadership and customer review. Directs the establishment and maintenance of configuration baselines for hardware, software, and documentation across all PMW 790 systems. Chairs and facilitates Local Configuration Control Board (LCCB) and Program Configuration Control Board (CCB) reviews.
  • Tool & Data Administration: Oversees the administration of CMPRO, including managing user accounts, permissions, and workflows.
