Arete is seeking an experienced Configuration Management Engineer to support and lead document control processes across the full product lifecycle—from development through sustainment and end-of-life. We are looking for someone that is highly motivated. We’re looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional who is both a self-starter and a strong collaborator. The ideal candidate will excel at building relationships, communicating effectively, and working across functional teams in a matrixed development environment. This role is responsible for maintaining consistent and accurate configuration control in alignment with SAE EIA-649 standards and Arete's ISO 9001 Quality Management System. The successful candidate will be process-driven, with a continuous improvement mindset to review, streamline, and standardize practices in line with industry best standards. This is a full-time, exempt, non-supervisory position based in Tucson, AZ.

Requirements

  • Eligible to obtain and hold a Top Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as MIL-STD, MIL-HDBK, ISO, ASME.
  • Familiarity with SAE-GEIA-859 and MIL-STD-963.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) support to the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Lead, Engineering Manager (EM) and Program Manager (PM).
  • Support and execute configuration control through system documentation, software, and drawing release, revision, and archival.
  • Develop and optimize the process for releasing product configurations into the CM system.
  • Track and deliver project data (documentation, software, drawing packages).
  • Draft Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Draft deviations and waivers; maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Coordinate and collaborate activities with other functional groups and project managers within a matrix development environment.
