The “Engineer II, Configuration” (or “Configuration Engineer II”) position is a mid-level (intermediate) engineering role responsible for clarifying, defining, maintaining, consolidating, and optimizing the configurations of “parts” (i.e., components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and/or kits) of gas turbines (GTs), steam turbines (STs), and related auxiliaries to facilitate the reliable and effective service operations of existing and future power generation facilities. This includes—but is not limited to—continuously developing and maintaining the engineering databases, system interfaces, data exchange architecture, business process coordination, and other systems, processes, and improvements necessary to provide and maintain an effective and comprehensive understanding and knowledge base regarding the expanding fleet of GTs and STs sold and/or serviced by Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. (MPW-A). Additionally, this role is responsible for rapidly responding to and supporting incoming customer requests for the quotation and/or purchase of GT, ST, and/or auxiliary (AUX) parts by clarifying/identifying/assigning their respective MPW-A part numbers, as well as ensuring that each such part has sufficient engineering definition available for Sourcing, suppliers, and manufacturers. As an intermediate position, this role also provides occasional opportunities for leading/managing various “special projects”, as well as onboarding and developing less-experienced (typically “Engineer I, Configuration”) team members through a variety of methods and formats, such as: providing training (one-on-one and in group sessions); hosting on-the-job shadowing sessions; writing/reviewing work instructions; creating/presenting/recording presentations; and/or reviewing/approving other team members' tasking and deliverables.
