About The Position

Abacus Technology is seeking a Configuration/Data Manager to support configuration and change management activities at Wright-Patterson AFB. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in configuration management including at least 3 years working in a DoD environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Must have progressive experience in managing configuration of software, engineering documents, design drawings, engineering changes and notices, and planning/conducting design audits to enable government ownership of the program technical baseline.
  • Must have IT Configuration Management experience within the Department of Defense environment.
  • Must understand distribution statements and FAR/DFARS data rights clauses.
  • Experience evaluating change proposals for impacts to data.
  • Experience monitoring the delivery and approval of contract technical data to include report generation and follow up actions and record maintenance in the AF Generation, Receiving, Integrated Tracking System (GRITS).
  • Experience performing HW and SW configuration audits.
  • Experience performing the technical administrative activities necessary to manage CM tools for inventory control, version control, data duplication, media labeling.
  • Experience producing release notes and CM reports.
  • An in-depth understanding of the configuration change control process, the role of the Change Control Board, and change control documentation.
  • Experience performing baseline administrative activities for multiple environments.
  • Experience developing briefings for management.
  • Understanding of all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Able to enter and manipulate data in a database.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Able to work independently and with a team.
  • Experience in MS Office Suite software required.
  • Must have skills and experience necessary to work closely with program management, systems engineers, quality managers, and design engineers in an integrated product team environment.
  • Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain consistency of a product’s performance, functional, and physical 101 attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life.
  • Analyze the impacts of the configuration management change process on lifecycle sustainment.
  • Assist with reviewing program-unique specifications to include system specifications, development specifications, and product specifications for both hardware and software.
  • Support the configuration control function, to include receipt, dissemination, processing, tracking, and final disposition of ACSNs, ECPs, CCPs, Requests for Deviation/Waiver (RFD/RFW), DRs, airworthiness directive notes, service introductions.
  • Review change proposals for thoroughness, configuration and data management impacts and compliance with Government requirements.
  • Make appropriate recommendations for Government review and disposition; assist in the preparation and conduct of CCB and business management boards.
  • Provide support to the DR function operation of the Joint Deficiency Reporting System (JDRS) or similar system for originating, to include assisting with receiving, processing and tracking DRs.
  • Assist in monitoring the closure of DRs; monitoring investigations; processing and disposing of exhibits; responding to inquiries from field units, weapon system contractors and subcontractors, and other stakeholders; preparing and conducting DR status briefings; and generating reports for management on DR status and trends.
  • Assist by providing engineering data management support for program requirements to include preparing or updating and maintaining any engineering data management plan.
  • Provide technical support in the preparation of and conduct of engineering data guidance conferences and engineering drawing In-Process Reviews (IPRs).
  • Provide configuration/data management-related research, analyses, studies, documentation, briefing development, and assistance in briefing delivery as required to support mission partner activities.
  • Develop and manage the deficiency reporting/material improvement project review board processes, to include drafting the deficiency reporting charter.
  • Assist with tracking all DRs, problem change requests, and test problem reports throughout the development of the system.
