About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Configuration and Data Management Specialist to lead the development, quality oversight, and version control of critical technical and training documentation. This role is responsible for ensuring that all training manuals and technical data packages are functionally accurate, compliant with aerospace quality standards (AS9100), and strictly controlled throughout the product lifecycle. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between Engineering, Quality Assurance, and the End-User.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communications, Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years in a highly regulated industry (Aerospace, Defense, or Medical Devices).
• Proficiency in CM tools (e.g. Git, Jira) and XML-based authoring (DITA/S1000D preferred).
• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or MIL-STD-962.
• Must be a U.S citizen.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with the Department of Defense (DoD) Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements.
• Background in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action (CAPA) processes.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Author, edit, and maintain complex training manuals, Work Instructions (WIs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for aerospace systems.
• Establish and maintain configuration baselines for all technical data. Manage the Change Control Board (CCB) process for documentation updates to ensure hardware/software changes are reflected in manuals.
• Perform rigorous audits of technical manuals to ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards. Verify that "as-built" configurations match "as-documented" training materials.
• Utilize PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools to manage the release and archival of technical data.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineering and Suppliers to translate complex technical specifications into digestible training content.
