About The Position

Within the role of Configuration Analyst, you will support a highly visible Defense Aviation Joint Program Office (JPO), responsible for managing a major defense weapon system development. The F-35 "Join Strike Fighter" is a multi-role fighter current in operations for the USAF, US Navy, USMC, and selected allies. You will perform critical configuration management functions to ensure program success. Hiring Timeframe: Immediate Work Location: This position is a hybrid role in Arlington, VA. Seventh Sense will support your commute by contributing over $1,500 annually to your Transportation FSA.

Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance, with ability to obtain access to information protected under Special Access Programs.
  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering, S&T, Business Management or related discipline OR Associates Degree plus four (4) years of additional relevant work experience
  • At least three (3) years out of the prior six (6) years experience in Configuration Management (CM) of aircraft systems
  • At least six (6) years of recent work experience program or systems development, production, and/or deployment and sustainment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or familiarity with the DoD 5000 (Operation of the Defense Acquisition System) series of policy and guidance, Federal and DoD acquisition regulations
  • Demonstrated program experience in the configuration management process must include: configuration identification, control, audit, and status; DOD configuration management policies, procedures, review cycles, instructions and standards; engineering change proposal evaluations
  • Demonstrated CM experience with development, production, ancillary equipment, ground support equipment, test & evaluation, and fleet operations of a DoD and international acquisition aircraft program
  • Experience evaluating Major Variance Requests, Specification Change Notices, Engineering Change Requests/Proposals, Manufacturing Build Records, Sustainment as Maintained Records and other documents
  • Demonstrated experience in providing guidance and assistance in configuration management, and change control and ensuring that all Class I (Major) changes and variances are properly processed and dispositioned
  • Demonstrated experience in collecting and maintaining process metrics and reporting techniques to ensure compliance with DOD level Data Management Program policies and procedures
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Focus on customer service and responsiveness with sound customer handling skills

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Configuration Management Standard, SAE EIA-649B, the SAE GEIA-Handbook (HDBK)-649A , Configuration Management Standard Implementation Guide, and MIL-HDBK-61B, Configuration Management Guidance
  • Completion of DAU LOG 2040 Configuration Management, or related Logistics Management courses
  • 5th Generation Fighter acquisition management experience
  • F-35 Lightning II program knowledge and expertise
  • Experience with and knowledge of acquisition challenges associated with a Contractor Supported Weapon System (CSWS)

Responsibilities

  • Perform critical configuration management, technical, or business analysis of major DoD acquisition systems and provides recommendations to ensure program success
  • Participates as a member of and/or supports the overall PMO
  • Apply knowledge of the principles, policies, and practices of configuration management, performance logistics, and systems acquisition to inform the planning, organization, and coordination of critical aspects of the development, production, deployment, and sustainment of aircraft systems, subsystems, and equipment
