MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Configuration Analyst Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the New York State Department of Heath Medicaid Management Information System program. You will play a crucial role in supporting the eMedNY Quality Assurance Release Coordination team and the selected candidate will facilitate all aspects of software development projects, fast track and defect releases, to meet the needs of the New York State Department of Health. This position is based at GDIT’s office at Corporate Woods in Albany, NY. As a Configuration Analyst Senior; you will: Review, approve and track all IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) (Mainframe COBOL) packages generated for all projects Create and maintain Control Review Board (CRB) documents that capture key information about each software development project, fast track and defect Chair of CRB meetings, as needed Support all Database Change Requests, including DB2 and LUW tables, views & stored procedures Review, approve and track all GitLab CM (Open Distributed System) packages generated for all projects Work closely with the following teams: PMO, Application Development, Systems Integration Testing, Quality Assurance teams, Systems Architecture (Application/Data Architects & DBAs) and Configuration Management to ensure all aspects of software development projects, fast track and defect migration are handled at the proper time and sequence Monitor and coordinate the following, as they migrate through all 14 eMedNY environments: SQL, edit settings, System Parameter/XLAT/System Lists, Job Control Language (JCL), Procedures (PROCs), Control Cards, Zweasy data loads, Conversions, etc. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your configuration management expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or 5+ years of Release management or Information Technology experience
  • Experience: 3+ years of Release Management or Information Technology experience
  • Required Technical Skills: Experience with computer technologies and applications; Excel, Word, Outlook, Zoom and Browsers
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Experience in all phases of the software development life cycle
  • A background in Release Management, including planning, scheduling and controlling a software build through different stages and environments
  • Strong attention to detail, good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask daily and work independently to reach each goal
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with customers, support staff, software development staff and management
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple team members, as well as productively as an individual.
  • A strong background in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge with Mainframe based applications and projects using COBOL, CICS, JCL, PROC, Control Library and Zweasy
  • Knowledge of GitLab CM, with the various types of baselines and configuration properties for Open Distributed System
  • IBM Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) multi-branch mainframe experience
  • Knowledge working with DB2 z/OS and LUW Database changes
