The Conference Administrative Coordinator will work with handling inquiries that come through the Mixed Methods Preaching Conference (MMPC) email system, help to manage the project, serve to support the Grant Director with projects and communication strategies, and day-of-event activities, coordinate Conference hospitality efforts, including food, and seek to grow and manage internal and external relationships. In addition, the coordinator will be trained on the CTS system that supports the programs' internal and external interfaces. This is a temporary, short-term position (May-January) with hours beginning at approximately 8 hours per week, increasing to 20-25 hours per week as conference planning progresses.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least three years of experience in customer technical support is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and pleasant manner
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong initiative and independent work skills
  • Technology skills: proficient in using standard and typical office equipment (i.e., computer keyboard, mouse, telephone)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with Zoom video conferencing and its application
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn an array of computer hardware or software

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with African American preaching traditions is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to inquiries that come through the MMPC email systems.
  • Assist with Conference planning and reporting.
  • Assist with data collection, tracking, and reporting associated with Conference participation.
  • Support the preparation of reports and summaries using the data collected.
  • Review and return program emails on behalf of the Grant Director.
  • Interface with high-profile clergy, coordinating travel arrangements and special requests.
  • Receive training on CTS systems that support the MMPC.
  • Update the database system/retrieve information based on the needs of the Conference.
  • Support the tracking of Conference-related expenses and budget activity, in coordination with the Grant Director.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Grant Director in support of the MMPC.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
