About The Position

Purpose: A Concrete Pump Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of pumping machinery used for delivery of products connected to the Company’s ready mixed concrete operation and to represent the Company’s values and portray a positive image (attitude, attire, cleanliness, etc.) always. In addition to the operation of a concrete boom pump, a pump operator is expected to be an expert in the inspection, set up, and operation of the machine and to work in conjunction with management to attain area level goals.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL A or B)
  • Be at least 18 years of age in South Carolina, Be at least 21 years of age in Georgia
  • Must have a minimum of 1-year experience as a pump operator
  • Be able to read, write, and speak English
  • MVR - No DUI’s or DWI’s in the last 5 years, no more than 3 moving violations in the previous 3 years
  • Add and subtract two-digit numbers
  • Perform the four basic arithmetic operations

Responsibilities

  • Cooperates and promotes a team concept between all KRM employees and customers
  • Actively participates in all Safety meetings
  • Operates and controls the boom and concrete pump to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of concrete to construction sites.
  • Inspects the boom pump for any defects or malfunctions before each use and reports any issues to the supervisor.
  • Communicates with the construction team to determine the appropriate placement of concrete and adjusts the boom accordingly.
  • Monitors the flow and consistency of the concrete to ensure it meets the specifications of the project.
  • Performs routine maintenance on the boom pump, including cleaning and greasing, to ensure it remains in good working condition.
  • Follows all safety protocols and regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment and adhering to established safety procedures.
  • Completes required paperwork, such as delivery tickets and inspection forms, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provides training and guidance to new boom pump operators as needed.
  • Meets or exceeds company safety standards.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as requested by management.
