About The Position

The Concrete Crushing Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and productive operation of a concrete crushing plant and associated equipment for the purpose of processing recycled concrete and related materials. This position ensures consistent production, proper material sizing, equipment reliability, and full compliance with all safety and environmental requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating a concrete crushing plant, aggregate plant, or similar heavy industrial equipment required.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and report equipment issues.
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance with procedures.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and in environments with dust, noise, and vibration.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, extended shifts, or weekends as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating loaders or excavators in a recycling, demolition, or aggregate environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the concrete crusher, conveyors, screens, and associated equipment in accordance with Company policy to ensure proper operation of guards, belts, hydraulics, controls, and safety devices.
  • Safely and efficiently operate a concrete crushing plant, which may include jaw or impact crushers, screens, conveyors, magnets, generators, and plant control systems.
  • Operate supporting heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, excavators, skid steers, and haul trucks to feed concrete material into the crusher and manage stockpiles.
  • Monitor material feed rates, crusher performance, and finished product size to maintain consistent production and prevent plugging, overloading, or excessive wear.
  • Continuously monitor incoming concrete material for unacceptable materials such as rebar, wire, trash, or other contaminants and remove or isolate as required.
  • Observe equipment operation for unusual noises, vibrations, leaks, or performance issues; adjust operations as needed to maintain safe and efficient crushing operations.
  • Perform and document routine maintenance and minor service, including greasing, belt tracking, screen changes, magnet clean-off, and general cleanup; report mechanical or electrical issues requiring repair to Maintenance or supervision.
  • Complete daily production reports, equipment condition reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain the crusher area, conveyor paths, and surrounding work zones in a clean and orderly condition to minimize safety hazards and downtime.
  • Follow all company safety policies, MSHA/OSHA requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental controls at all times.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and other operators to meet production goals and maintain safe material flow throughout the site.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
